PySquad Vehicle Service Center runs the aftermarket visit in one Odoo app: reception, inspection, quoting, workshop, handover, and follow-up. It uses Odoo Sales for quotations, Inventory for parts, Fleet when you link a registered vehicle, Website and Portal for customers, and SMS for optional texts.
Workshop flow
A registered vehicle (brand, model, fuel, odometer, service history) is booked onto a bay slot. Booking states: draft → confirmed → arrived → in progress → done. Workshop stage, planned pickup, internal notes, and a delivery checklist sit beside that. Duplicate active bookings for the same vehicle on the same slot are blocked.
Optional inspection job (checklist pass/fail/N/A, damage photos, intake signature). Then a service job card (maintenance or repair): tasks, parts, labour, priority, reusable templates, standard-cost margin. Create quotation builds a sales order. Start workshop after the SO is confirmed. Parts can be reserved into a workshop-bay location. Labour lines have a start/stop time clock. Mark done can require QA sign-off and a test drive. Comebacks within a configurable window are flagged.
Customers
- Website booking and portal “My service appointments” with PDFs and confirm-order on a draft/sent quotation.
- Public tracking page
/service/track/<token>— no login; vehicle photo, stage timeline, technician first name. No prices. - Email on confirm, ready-for-pickup, and estimate. Optional SMS / WhatsApp (WhatsApp is a stub unless you wire a provider).
Contracts and reminders
Service plans (duration, included visits, price) become AMC contracts on a vehicle. Bookings can consume visits. Crons expire contracts and can send renewal reminders. Vehicles carry next-service date/km; dashboard tiles show due and overdue.
Teams and reporting
Roles: receptionist, technician, supervisor, manager, with record rules by team. OWL dashboard (bookings, inspections, jobs, pickups, stale quotes, AMC). Graphs, pivots, and CSV exports. Appointment, inspection, damage, estimate, and vehicle-history PDFs.
Optional companion: PySquad Automotive Dealership shares vehicle master XML IDs when both apps are installed. Not required for this module.
Edition: depends on web_gantt (Enterprise) for the bay and technician Gantt. Will not install on Community without that module.
